It’s a lot of information but I found every bit of it interesting and I’ll be trying a few of the newer BC Spa products this summer myself. In case you haven’t noticed…summer is quickly approaching. I am not quite sure how we got here so quickly, but we did. For many parts of the country, the signs of summer are already upon us and we need to start thinking about Summerizing our skin as a result. Here are a few things to keep in mind, as well as a list of some of my favorite summer products to help you enjoy every second of the season, while keeping your skin in perfect condition:
Scrub-a-dub-dubIt's so very important to exfoliate your skin. Your body sheds skin cells at an amazing rate every minute of every day. If you don't get rid of them, they'll just sitting on your skin making you look dull and dry. No matter how much lotion you use, you're skin cannot absorb the moisture and nutrition from your body moisturizers if you don’t effectively and frequently exfoliate. Grab a body scrub and hit the shower. Gently rub your exfoliator in circular movements on your entire body from the shoulders down (you'll want a facial exfoliator for your face and neck) and rinse clean. Continue to do this 2-3 times a week for year-round beautiful skin.
For the body:Luxuries of the Sea salt Glow – This product contains both salt and nourishing oils to not only exfoliate, but help keep the skin moist and hydrated throughout the day.
Spa Sugar Scrub – Sugar not only exfoliates, but it helps condition the skin…not to mention leaving a beautiful scent on your body.
For the face:MicrodermAbrasion – at least 2 times a week. The laser cut crystals in this formulation will help exfoliate at a deeper layer than a typical daily skin scrub. This product is formulated with the same aluminum oxide crystals used by dermatologists for clinical application.
Skinlogics Facial Scrub – used alone or mixed with your daily cleanser to keep the skin fresh and glowing every day.
Skinlogics Thermal Facial Scrub - This unique product combines the warming action of the

For the Lips:Lip Apeel is a MUST – use at least 2 to 3 times a week to keep your lips kissably soft and hydrated. ALWAYS have a lip balm on hand…or rather, on lips.
For Knees and Elbows:BC Spa Pedicure Scrub – This heavy duty scrub will keep the skin on the knees and elbows smooth, soft and hydrated
Stay HydratedNothing zaps moisture from the skin like the hot, summer temperatures. A daily moisturizer for both your face and body is necessary to not only add hydration to the skin, but to help the skin maintain hydration throughout the day. A good moisturizer is formulated with water rich hydration, skin protecting anti-oxidants, natural moisturizing factors that act as humectants to absorb water from the air and effective film-formers that lock in the skin’s natural moisture, preventing moisture loss.
For the Face:
Skinlogics Moisturizer – based on your skin type
Skinlogics Sensitive Hydra-calm Moisturizer – I love to keep this product on hand. It soothes summer skin sensitivities while laying down a cushion of pure hydration without feeling heavy. This is my summer moisturizer of choice.
Hydrating Mist – This is a MUST HAVE! I have them everywhere…on my desk, in my car, in my travel bag, outside on my patio to use in the pool. I don’t go outside in the summer without Hydrating Mist and a lip balm.
For the Body:BC Spa Body Moisturizing Body Wash – This gentle wash cleanses the skin without stripping natural moisture like many foaming cleansers.
BC Spa Body Ultra Rich Body Moisturizer – This is probably our most effective deep hydration moisturizer that both enriches the skin with nutrients, but keeps the skin moist and glowing all day.
Protect Your Skin
When you think of summer, you think of sun. The sun is not necessarily our enemy in the summer and it certainly isn’t the only thing that you need to think about when considering skin protection products.
The sun is a key source of vitamins and nutrition for our overall health. Some sun is actually very good for us, as a key source of Vitamin D. When thinking about sun protection, keep your ABCs in mind:
A = Away - Stay away from the sun in the middle of the day
B = Block - Use SPF 15 or higher
C = Cover up - Wear a T-shirt and a hat
These simple tips will help ensure that you protect your skin from both UVA and UVB sun damage, without completely depriving our bodies from essential nutrition that the sun can provide.
Cell Block C SPF 15 – will provide you with daily SPF protection, that will prevent both burning and skin aging, while providing you with a broad spectrum of antioxidants to protect from oxidative skin damage, encouraging healthy new cell development.

Pamper your Feet
Sandal season is upon us. To keep your feet looking great, be sure to use the 3-step BC Spa Pedicure treatments at least twice a week, and your
BC Spa Pedicure Foot Cream each night before bed to keep your feet looking and feeling their best. Tip your toes in a fun, summery nail color and flaunt your summer perfect feet.
Give Yourself a HandYou want to know a person’s true age? Just look at their hands! We use our hands more that most other parts of our body. Why not pamper them with the same level of dedication that we do our faces?
The 3-Step
BC Spa Manicure products will keep your hands, cuticles and nails looking their best no matter how much abuse you expose them to.
There are, however, more things that you can do to de-age your hands. When applying your facial treatment products each morning and each night, do the same for your hands…Tight Firm and Fill, Cell Block C, Regeneration Overnight, etc. Apply a generous amount of each of these products, applying what you need for your face and using the rest to rub into your hands. Follow the exact same order that you apply your facial products and will notice the years start to fade away. For skin discolorations, be sure to use the Cell Block C Brightening Elixir at least twice a day to help fade the signs of age spots and sun damage.
The Art of ShavingWith this summer’s leg baring fashion trends, a little more attention needs to be given to shaving your legs. A woman’s legs are not the same as a man’s face, so don’t opt for your husband’s shaving cream when it comes to taking care of your legs. Choose some less likely options for giving yourself a smooth, gorgeous shave:
Warming Trend Green Tea Mask – Apply a liberal amount to damp legs. The warming action will soften the hair follicle and give you smooth, flawless shave without the risk of razor burn or ingrown hairs.
Luxuries of the Sea Moisturizing Body Wrap – this product offers a great shave in the shower and will help the skin retain moisture and that sexy summer glow throughout the day.
Lighten UpDuring the summer, there is one general rule that I always stick to…less is more! That rule applies to both your cosmetic and your skin care application:
Skin Care: Use what you need, but don’t over-do it. Use less of each product to keep your skin protected, but comfortable. Using too much of each product can cause you to perspire during the day, not only making you uncomfortable, but causing you to reduce the longevity of your skin care benefits.
Makeup: If you normally wear a heavier foundation during the cooler months, opt for a lighter foundation during the summer:
Look for a liquid foundation, rather than a cream.
Use the
BC Color Tinted Moisturizer instead of your regular foundation for a light, natural coverage.
If you normally sponge on your wet/dry foundation, try applying it with a brush rather than your sponge on top of your regular moisturizer. For more coverage, try pairing it with the BC Color Tinted Moisturizer.
If you haven’t tried the

Therma Del Sol Tuscan Sun Bronzer – this is my personal favorite bronzer in the line. I don’t know if I should admit this, but I use this product almost every day! This is the most natural looking bronzer I have ever used. It not only delivers a healthy, bronzed look to the skin, but it gives the skin a healthy glow.
Tri-Colored Bronzers – whether you want to give your skin a healthy glow with “Beauti and the Beach”, or a shimmering bronzed sun-kissed look, with “Bronzed Beauti”, these tri-colored bronzers are fan favorites!
Triple Glow – if you are looking for gradual self tanning benefits, Triple Glow for the face or Triple Glow for the body can give you a gradual, delicate build of natural looking color without looking fake or streaky. As with any self-tanner, remember to exfoliate the areas of application thoroughly and blend well to avoid streaking or un-even application. Comfort the Weekend WarriorThere is a weekend warrior in all of us. The weekend gets here and we play too hard or spend just a tad more time in the sun that we expected. Here are some must-haves to keep on hand in the event that you over-do:
